Age Against Amour

Synopsis

After her parents die in an accident, young Judy is adopted by Vince, her father’s business partner. When she grows up, Judy decides she wants to marry Vince despite the age difference, and he agrees. At a summer resort hotel, Judy meets Todd, a young man of her own age, and is conflicted. Vince overhears Judy tell Todd that she loves him but doesn’t want to hurt Vince’s feelings; Vince frees her from her engagement and goes away. Todd and Judy wed.

Rebound Romance

Synopsis

As a girl, poor Barbara plays second fiddle to Janet, who comes from a wealthy family. Barbara’s steady boyfriend as she grows up is “skinny, awkward Jim.” Jim suddenly blossoms into a talented athlete and signs to play baseball with the “Gold Socks.” Janet moves in and takes over, but dumps Jim when he injures his arm and can’t play baseball anymore. Jim comes home and resumes his romance with Barbara. When his arm heals, Janet comes back but this time Barbara fights for her man and wins.

Miner's Romance

Synopsis

Elinor’s father owns mines and she looks down on the people who work there. When her father suffers a stroke, Elinor has to run the family business. She clashes with miner’s committee representative Monte but decides to utilize his attraction to her to forestall a threatened strike. Monte kisses her but says “I won’t betray my kind for a Jezebel like you!” Elinor realizes she actually does love Monte, and when the miners strike, Elinor gives in to their demands and says she’s leaving the country. Monte says “love knows no class boundaries” and they decide to get married.
