June marries boxer Al after he wins the championship, but when he repeatedly signs up for “one last fight,” she threatens to leave him. Al finally retires but after several years tells June he’s going back to face the new champion, and won’t tell her why. June breaks up with him, but on the night of the bout, her brother Jimmy says Al is fighting to repay money Jimmy “borrowed” from his bank job. June rushes to the stadium and reconciles with Al, although he loses the fight.

Synopsis
Novice reporter Dusty gets a job on a big city newspaper. She and rival reporter Scoop fall in love, but he steals her stories and stands her up on their wedding day to cover a sensational kidnaping case. Dusty breaks up with him and takes a job as a foreign correspondent. Leaving Indo-China, she discovers Scoop is on the same flight to Japan. Their airliner is shot down by “two Chinese MIGs” despite being in international airspace. Dusty and Scoop reconcile as they’re waiting rescue on a rubber raft, and Scoop sends in the story of their escapade under a shared byline.

Synopsis
Arlene is an ambulance-chasing lawyer. She convinces Matt to sue a bus company even though he insists his broken arm was his own fault. He agrees because they’re romantically attracted to each other, but when Arlene takes the lion’s share of the settlement, Matt breaks off their romance. She decides to give him all of the money but it’s too late: he’s a reporter investigating her unethical practices. Arlene is disbarred and sentenced to a year in jail, although this sentence is lighter because Matt testifies on her behalf. Arlene hopes Matt will be waiting for her when she’s released.
