Synopsis
Lonely Myra helps George after he’s beaten up and robbed by some thugs. She loans him money because he’s waiting on a “big deal” to come through. Myra falls in love with George even though he’s very mysterious about himself. George says he urgently needs $700 to close the deal and convinces Myra to “borrow” the cash from her job. After several days, Myra tracks him down and George confesses he lost the money at the race track and doesn’t love Myra. Myra’s theft is discovered but her boss says he won't prosecute: “your own conscience will be a far worse prison than man could devise.”
